That is why we were proud to contribute our painting services at no cost to Trails Youth Initiatives, a youth development organization that helps young people discover their potential through outdoor experiences, mentorship, and long-term support.

More Than a Summer Camp: Helping Young People Build Their Future

Located north of Toronto, Trails Youth Initiatives provides school-aged children and youth with opportunities to experience the outdoors, develop new skills, and build confidence.

Through activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and camping in the wilderness, participants learn to challenge themselves, work with others, and develop a stronger sense of independence.

But what makes Trails particularly meaningful is its commitment to supporting young people over time.

Rather than offering a one-time camp experience, Trails provides a structured four-year program for participants from underprivileged communities in Toronto. Young people return each summer for two weeks and take part in additional weekend experiences throughout the year.

Importantly, they remain with the same group of campers throughout the program, allowing friendships to grow and mentors to build meaningful relationships with each participant.

This continuity creates opportunities for guidance, encouragement, and personal development that extend far beyond the camping experience itself.

Four Seasons. Four Years. For Life.

Trails Youth Initiatives lives by the motto “4 Seasons, 4 Years, 4 Life.”

Each part reflects an important aspect of its commitment to young people.

• 4 Seasons: The program provides experiences and opportunities throughout the year, not just during summer.
• 4 Years: Participants develop alongside the same group of campers and benefit from ongoing mentorship throughout the four-year program.
• 4 Life: Support does not end when participants graduate. Trails continues to encourage their growth and future success.

That lasting commitment can take many forms. Some program graduates go on to work at Trails, while others receive bursaries to help them pursue post-secondary education.

It is a powerful example of how sustained mentorship and access to opportunities can help young people build a foundation for the future.

CAM Painters: Proud to Give Back

At CAM Painters, we were pleased to provide painting services to Trails Youth Initiatives at no cost as part of our commitment to giving back.

For us, painting is about more than colour, preparation, and a finished surface. It is about helping create spaces where people live, work, learn, and connect.

Being able to contribute our skills to an organization that invests so much in young people made this project especially meaningful to our team.

We completed the painting using Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17 on the walls and ceilings. We used Benjamin Moore Scuff-X Matte, a durable paint well suited to high-traffic environments where surfaces need to withstand everyday wear.

The result is a refreshed space designed to stand up to regular use while maintaining a clean, welcoming appearance.

We are grateful for the opportunity to put our expertise to work for an organization whose mission extends well beyond its facilities.
